ABOUT ME

Nathalie Bertrams is an award-winning freelance photographer and journalist who documents environmental and social conflicts mainly across Africa and Eastern Europe. She publishes in international media such as Al Jazeera, The Guardian, BBC News, Süddeutsche Zeitung, De Groene Amsterdammer, NRC Handelsblad and Mongabay and makes documentary films for Arte/ZDF. She is a National Geographic Explorer, was awarded the Lorenzo Natali Media Prize and shortlisted for the Fetisov Journalism Awards. Nathalie studied Fine Arts in the Netherlands, the USA and Germany and has a master’s degree from Kunstakademie Düsseldorf.
